Cabinet appoints 7 new MISSA Board Members,
retains 2 from the previous Board

At its meeting on March 3, 2020, the Cabinet of the Marshall Islands approved the appointment of seven (7) new members to the MISSA Board for a term of three (3) years:

  1. Health Minister Bruce Bilimon as Chairman;
  2. Finance Minister Alfred Alfred Jr. as a member representing the Nitijela;
  3. Minister Kitlang Kabua as a member representing the Nitijela;
  4. Aron Silk as a member representing retirees;
  5. Anjabro Kabua as a member representing Kwajalein Atoll;
  6. Terry Nemra as a member; and
  7. Josepha Maddison as a member

The Cabinet also approved the re-appointment of Kathryn Relang and Nicholas Tibon as members. Both were also memebers of the former MISSA Task Force in 2016-2017. During subsequent meetings, Kathryn and Nicholas were appointed as Vice-Chairman and Treasurer, respectively.

On the last meeting of the previous Board held on February 14, 2020, Min. Bilimon was invited to ensure a smooth transition and continuity of the current plans and programs of the Administration.

The first meeting of the new Board took place on March 9, 2020 and coincided with the soft opening of the newly renovated Board room and excutive Lounge located on the second floor of the MISSA building. Before the start of the meeting, Min. Kitlang Kabua was given the honor to cut the ribbon.
