MISSA Welcomes New Employees
The post of Ebeye Branch Manager has finally been filled with the recent reappointment of Harden Lelet. Harden was first hired by MISSA in 2004 for the same post. In 2008, he resigned from MISSA and accepted an offer from the RMI Government to be its Assistant to the Kwajalein Range Services (KRS) leadership team, a position he occupied until 2018. As a member of senior management, he served as an ombudsman for the more than 800 RMI employees of KRS, serving as a communication channel for concerns and grievances.
In February 2015, the Cabinet appointed him as MISSA Board member representing Ebeye/Kwajalein. He remained a MISSA Board Member until a new set of directors was appointed by the Cabinet in December 2017. Mr. Lelet also worked with Kwajalein Atoll Stevedoring Co. (KASCO) in Ebeye as General Manager and was a teacher for four years at Father Hacker High School in Ebeye.
With Harden’s vast experience and familiarity with MISSA’s operations in the past, it is expected that the Administration’s branch in Ebeye will improve, more particularly on tax compliance.
In mid-March, Gary Abji was hired as Tax Compliance Officer at the Administration’s Head office in Majuro. Gary completed his secondary education at Springdale High School in the United States and also studied at Guam Community College from 2002 though 2004. His previous work history includes a 10-year stint with the Marshall Islands Resort (MIR) and National Telecommunications Authority (NTA).
Another addition to the MISSA family was the hiring of Anelie Sarana as Finance Manager. Anelie is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and earned her Bachelor of Science in Commerce (major in Accounting) degree from the University of Mindanao in the Philippines. Prior to being hired by MISSA, Anelie worked with Majuro Cooperative School as Finance Officer.
Anelie brings with her more than 30 years of supervisory and managerial experience in Finance and Accounting in the Philippines, the United Arab Emirates and the Marshall Islands.
